you can try fxcm too they have good seminars, very cheap or maybe free too.i did em some years ago and they are very good.easy to understand too.

I have been trading for a few months and i heard about some guys in Melbourne who are teaching forex trading. i meet up with them and they are incredible guys.
The seminar is run by FX Masters who are based in Melbourne. They take people from all backgrounds to no trading knowledge at all to earning a fulltime income from trading currencies in around 6 months. They teach the basics right up to advanced trading strategies with ongoing support and coaching for as long as is required. The results these guys are achieving is incredible. Over a 21/2 lunch with Lance, I watched him trade and make a 300% profit. He has students all over the world many of whom start trading with as little as $150. They won’t let you start trading live until you are consisently achieve 80% winning trades.
Lance has an amazing story. He spent 3 years reading 8 hours a day to work out a successful trading plan. He started with $2000 and within 12 months was generating $40 000 per day. He has been trading for about 15 years.
These guys know what they are doing!
Its one of best ways to make money in the current economic climate.
The next scheduled course is in Melbourne on the 21 and 22 of March.

I’m a canadian with parents originating from Haiti. I’m a part-time student in economics and have a full-time job that allow me to keep up on the daily basis. I have a basic conception of the forex market, but I want to learn more from experienced people. So far, I have used a practice account at forex.com to help me understand a little bit more. I’ve also bought a book about the forex market at Chapters. I know forex is not something that can be learned overnight, but I am willing to learn it, and hopefully make it a second income or maybe a career. Please point me to the right direction, training, conference, seminar, workshop, anything that would really get me started.

The negativity is all around us and it is contagious. Do people just NEED to be negative in order to feel better about themselves?

Whenever I go to seminars there is ALWAYS somebody there who wants to then give their own little mini-seminar on the break or in the restroom telling you why the seminar presenters are all full of crap and why what they are selling just will not work.

Usually these are people who you can tell are not very successful in life. Do they perhaps need to be downers in order to feel better about their own failures in life? I really want to know what others think because I have my own views on this. I’ve attended seminars and presentations by some of the most well known and undeniably successful entrepreneurs in their industry (real estate; Forex investing; Stock Trading; eCommerce Marketing; mail-order; etc.) and these pessimists even say those things about them! I do feel so terribly sorry for the many who never learn that the way to learn how to acquire real wealth is from sitting at the feet of those who have acquired it (and not some professor who earns $79,000 a year IF he’s really good.)

Have you had this experience with pessimism -versus- optimism? Are YOU one of these people? If so then please explain WHY you always see the glass as half full rather than half empty. Has this pessimism worked for you?
Excuse me. I mis-typed. I meant to say WHY do you see the glass as half empty? Or …why do you focus more on the negative rather than the positive in a thing. This is the pessimists trademark.

Okay, first, let’s clear something up. Pessimists are the one’s who see the glass half empty. Optimist’s see it as half full.

Second, a lot of times, people who give seminars are con men. I went to one about how to trade in options, selling put’s and call’s, the whole nine yards. How if you traded in options, it was virtually impossible to lose. And this guy was going to teach us for the low, low price of $30,000.00, for a 6 week course. There was one guy in the audience who asked, wouldn’t it be better to take that 30 thousand dollars and get an undergraduate degree at an accredited college? The speaker notified his goons to shut that guy down.

During our lunch break, I happened to see this person and invited him to lunch with me. But one of the goons had followed the renegade and tried to prevent him from having lunch with me. He claimed that the renegade was "disrupting" HIS customers (me, I suppose). I told Andrew, (the goon) that it was okay, I WANTED to have lunch with him. So he backed down.

I didn’t get into the program. I was just curious about it.

However, there ARE people who are pathologically skeptical. I once mentioned in passing, to some dickwad I used to work with that I knew someone who won a bronze medal in the Olympics, many years ago. This clown goes "unh unh!" As in "no you don’t". Excuse me? He doesn’t know jack shiit about me and he’s suddenly telling me I can’t know anyone who won an olympic medal, because…because why?…because HE doesn’t know anybody himself?

I’m after a book introducing me to the inner workings of Forex trading. I’ve taken a quick look at a few books, but they all appear to be written by people that make a living from Forex trading, rather than writing about how to do it & providing seminars?

When you Google or Wikipedia the authors, you don’t seem to find a lot of information about them, other than they have written a book!

Does anyone know whether Andrew Barnett offering free book ‘The seven minute workday’ (about Forex trading) and also offering free seminars, is one of the many masquerading as a good fellow but really operating under that guise in an attempt to extract large fees for his services.My son in law and others I know have been suckered in to trading schemes paying out thousands of dollars but in the end out of pocket to a bunch of viral marketing shysters. Does anyone have any experience of this man?

I have read loads of stories on Andrew Barnett. He was involved with TI – Traders International now it is called Goldrock..below is one of the many quotes I have found on him. He is just a sales man making as much money as possible out of innocent people who believe in him.. There is always a catch trust me Andrew Barnett is not offering anything for free, he is hoping you will sign up and part with several thousand dollars at the time..

Andrew Barnett has no knowledge of trading he is a salesman and the nearest thing to a con man that I have witnessed in my life. Jimmy Polydoris programmed a signal for T.I called the JTI, it was an unmitigated disaster.
Do you really think these men know anything that you’d want to learn?

Please tell me WHY you go (or went) and WHAT you expect to get out of it? WHAT type of job or career? And most importantly HOW MUCH MONEY do you expect to earn? What skills; talents; attributes; abilities do you expect to exit college with?

(I’ve tried this question before but always get evasive and defensive answers.) And …lest you make any presumptions about me… I earn a healthy 6 figure (approaching 7) income every year. I am a prolifically published author; professional public speaker; web designer; programmer; forex investor; real estate investor; video producer; marketing consultant; legal consultant and have effectively altered legislation in my state. I’ve designed study aids for college students and a number of teaching programs. I could say MUCH more but I do NOT have a college degree …in anything and have taught myself everything that I know (with the aid of courses, seminars; books; classes; independent research; etc!)

By the way …my son is 19, has not finished high school yet and I encourage him to take those few classes and get his diploma because he’s extremely smart. But he is too busy earning MUCH more than most college graduates EVER will in his own candy sales business and he doesn’t see the point. He has over 20 employees now and may hire some college graduates to help him run it eventually.

I expect to get knowledge and the ability to learn more from college – nothing more, nothing less. I could, as well, learn without a college. I find it easier when surrounded by a community of scholars.

The purpose of an education is not, and never has been, to earn more money. The "earn more money" crowd is doomed to fail in that goal and while doing so will dilute the value of colleges for those of us that want to learn for the sake of knowledge. The purpose of college is not to lead to a career – that’s the purpose of a trade or vocational school.

There’s no need to endlessly debate the point – some people simply earn more money than others and that has nothing at all to do with whether they have a college degree but instead whether they have marketable skills or knowledge. It’s just that, as a generality, people with a college degree have more valuable marketable skills. It’s proven and factual – not really subject to debate except by those that want to believe "all people are equal".

Some people gain their skill outside of a college – some inside. Some study and work for a lifetime and never acquire any knowledge that’s marketable. It’s just the way things are.

Sure, there are stories out there of a lot of people that do just fine with no college degree. There are homeless college grads. There are rich grads – and poor non-grads too.

You see, college does not equal money. Wealth does not equal college. It’s good that you and your son have done well without a formal education. Congrats. It’s also good that some people study biochemistry or medicine (not easily learned ‘on your own’) so that they can keep you alive. It’s good that some people fix cars or repair your plumbing. They are important contributors to society too.

Bottom line – you’re discussing apples and oranges. I sometimes walk barefoot and don’t hurt my feet, therefor shoes are unnecessary for everyone? Doesn’t work that way. If you have no need for a college education then that’s ok – some people have a need or desire for one, that’s ok too.

If it’s important though – "How much money I expect to earn": I can walk into any town in the world and have sufficient means to eat and be sheltered. I will have enough to supply all of my personal needs and the needs of my family. I will never be hungry or homeless unless everyone else is in the same condition. This is due directly to my education. What I collect that I don’t need for my own familial support I then give away.

Let me now ask, instead of how much money you’ve collected, what have you done to benefit the society of man? How much of that wealth will you have the day after you die? What will be said of you at your eulogy – will it be "but he had a lot of money, wonder how much I’ll inherit" Is it really important that you earn six-figures? You’re still not the richest person in the world – does that mean you’re a failure?

The other question is why are you so against college education? That’s the only real reason to write what you have written. You won’t ever convince society that gaining more knowledge is a waste of time any more than you’ll convince everyone that life is all about collecting the most gold. We can point to millionaires that never finished high school – do you also propose that we don’t need a HS level education because some people have succeeded without one?

If you are worried about the cost of a seminar you really should not trade on the forex markets.

Foreign Markets are highly speculative and I suggest you to atay away from them if you don’t have at least $1,000,000.00 in assets excluding your primary residence.

I’m seeking to have a career change and I would like to learn how to trade the FOREX market. Problem is, I’ve seen so many home study kits and would prefer attending a school for the hands on experience. I just attended the Online Trading Academy seminar that aside from asking for $5,000.00 (they want this amount immediately, refund is given as rebates) for 6 days, seemed to be full of fluff, I left just as empty as when I first walked in. I’m serious about this and I would appreciate it if someone who is already doing the walk can guide me as to where I should start. Books are great, however, I’m more visual than anything else. Please advice and thank so much.

There is a lot of dodgy products out there so you have to be careful.

The online trading academy has a good reputation along with the Market Traders Institute. Though I have not used either of these schools.
