I am 18 years old and I have been practicing spot-forex trading for several months now with FX Club and I am quite good at it and have learned a lot about currency trading from my demo account and some books and internet article sites on currency & options trading. Its become my passion actually.

I also know something that actually is a secret to FX trading success; the trends are usually long term, lasting from several months to several years meaning you are best to trade for the long term on currency pairs to enjoy the ride of making money. You can’t do this with spot-FX because you are trading on margin and if a trading position is left open too long, you will be wiped out within so long.

What I would like to know is if currency options trading is a good way to trade currency by simple vanilla call & put options as I know that spot-FX is essentially a mugs game? Also is there anybody out there who trades currency options for a living at all? Also, what is an easy to use currency options trading brokerage that can be used by a UK based investor? Please help advise. Thanks.

P.S. Sorry my question is too long.

if you want to trade forex, you need to trade futures. if you don’t have enough money you need to save the money while doing something else while learning more about forex and then trade futures. once you are able to trade futures you could add options on futures if you wanted but you do not need to do that. generally speaking successful option trading is more difficult than than trading futures or stocks. options are never simple vanilla.

The CPA in a statement here said, “The Commissioner of Elections appears to have given up on his attempts to enforce the law in terms of his powers under the Seventeenth Amendment…We unequivocally maintain that the failure and/or refusal of public officials and other persons to follow the directions of the Commissioner and the Competent Authority is a clear breach of a legal duty imposed by the Constitution”.

I am stuck between using a 5 or 10 pip stop trading the m5 charts, please help! My stratgey is based on break of support/resistance, therefore I believe a tighter stop could be used because if price is going to breakout it should not be turning back 10 pips. However I need someone experiencd to help?

On the 5 min – I’m guessing you’re trading one of the major pairs like the EUR/USD. The answer really depends on what swings you’re playing

    My advice would be to

control risk/reward – don’t have your stop at 10 pips if you only expect to make 5. It should be at the very, very least 10 and preferably much more.

Watch the markets and try to define where the best "point" to place the stop – this is the price at which if it is hit your target will likely not be hit. For trades similar to yours I put them around the 80% retracement of the prior swing (I think there is a fib like .782 which I used but haven’t traded since the summer).

Really, just watch the market, watch the market, watch the market, be creative, be smart, and protect your money.

What I’m getting at, is that people tend to lose themselves, lose sight of their ideals if they became a successful trader. Whether it by Chinese oligarchs who live more lavishly than Goldman Sachs execs or a typical Wall Street trader.

No. The entire premise of communism is public ownership of capital. The stock market directly allows for that. A worker can go purchase as much stock in a company as he can afford, and in so doing becomes an owner. The stock market, and public ownership in general, is only non-communist in the sense that it is individuals, rather than the government, that owns the means of production.

I just had a thought that I believe could work in theory. I once monitored a few days of trading currency pairs and what I found was that within each day of trading forex, I could have potentially started with £1,000 and doubled it every day for 10 days and become a millionaire or 20 days and become a billionaire. Could this plan work in theory for some legendary trader with no feelings and a skill of forex trading art?

Your math is correct if you were lucky or fortunate enough to be able to double your investment everyday for 10 days. I wouldn’t however give a trader with no feelings the nod over an emotional but studious investor. Intuition plays it’s part in many experienced investors decisions. Nothing is certain to happen therefore all decisions have an element of chance. The only advantage a trader with no feelings or emotional attachments has over the rest of us is when he loses his money it doesn’t bother him as bad.

    Hello,

I have been doing a lot of research and there are dozens and dozens if not hundreds of EA’s for use on MT4, trading FOREX.

But I am unable to find anything on robots for Futures trading. While I look forward to manually trading Futures in the evenings, it would be nice to have something to catch a good trend during pit hours, while I am away at work.

Thanks for any tips or keywords that may assist in a Google search. ; )

I haven’t also come across any automated futures trading system or what you are calling a futures robot. There are many futures contracts that you can trade. Maybe this has to do something with the nature of the futures market. You haven’t mentioned what type of futures contract you want to trade. Infact there are many dozens of futures contracts like stock index futures, crude oil futures, interest rate futures, commodity futures, currency futures and others. Futures markets are a lot different from forex. Futures market is a highly regulated market. You can find both price and volume in the futures market unlike forex where you only have the price action.

I came accross a swing trading strategy that works for forex, stocks and futures. This swing trading strategy takes not more than 10 minutes to trade each day. Many people think that automated trading is the solution or what you call the Holy Grail. Infact there is no holy grail. Successful traders are those who learn to trade manually first. Automated trading systems without knowning how to trade manually do not give good results as market conditions keep on changing and if you have the feel of how the market is changing you can change the setting of the automated trading system. You can only develop the feel of the market by manual trading. First practice and paper trade for one to two months. Only then trade live. Good Luck!

Does anyone know whether Andrew Barnett offering free book ‘The seven minute workday’ (about Forex trading) and also offering free seminars, is one of the many masquerading as a good fellow but really operating under that guise in an attempt to extract large fees for his services. My son in law and others I know have been suckered in to trading schemes paying out thousands of dollars but in the end out of pocket to a bunch of viral marketing shysters. Does anyone have any experience of this man?

I have read loads of stories on Andrew Barnett. He was involved with TI – Traders International now it is called Goldrock..below is one of the many quotes I have found on him. He is just a sales man making as much money as possible out of innocent people who believe in him.. There is always a catch trust me Andrew Barnett is not offering anything for free, he is hoping you will sign up and part with several thousand dollars at the time..

Andrew Barnett has no knowledge of trading he is a salesman and the nearest thing to a con man that I have witnessed in my life. Jimmy Polydoris programmed a signal for T.I called the JTI, it was an unmitigated disaster.
Do you really think these men know anything that you’d want to learn?
