    ProSticks by David Penn

    V. 22:9 (86-91): Product Review: ProSticks by David Penn When I look at new technical analysis charting software products and services, I try to figure out which of two standard categories the new product falls into. Is the product essentially providing all of the same sorts of charts, tools, quotes, indicators and oscillators, alerts, scans and screens, coding, and programming options as the rest of the technical analysis charting crowd, only better? Or is the product focused on a few things maybe eye-popping charts loaded with technical indicators or a stock screener that encompasses more methods and strategies than the average trader ever dreamed of, with a mandate to fill a specific trading niche that other products have been unable or unwilling to fill? Fortunately, a new product by ProSticks Financial Solutions called (appropriately enough) ProSticks provides one of those uncommon occasions when a product manages to do both. ProSticks has all of the basic bells and whistles that the average stock or forex trader wants, but also introduces some innovations that will likely have even traders who are comfortable with their current charting platforms wanting to take a peek.

Is Gold A Hedge Against A Falling Dollar? by John L. Momsen

Stocks & Commodities V. 25:2 (14-18): Forex Focus: Is Gold A Hedge Against A Falling Dollar? by John L. Momsen Access to foreign exchange trading has opened up exciting trading options for the retail trader. You can now trade alongside corporations and institutions in a highly liquid market that is global, traded around the clock, and highly leveraged. Before jumping into this market, however, we must understand the factors that affect the forex market. With that in mind, STOCKS & COMMODITIES has introduced Forex Focus to better prepare the retail trader to participate in the currency market. Is gold the great investment its said to be? Lets take a look. The other day I turned on the radio to listen to my favorite radio show. It was still a bit early, so airing was an advertisement for one of those gold investment firms. Lately, they seem to be all over radio and television. So I listened to what the ad had to say, which basically was, Gold is a hedge against inflation! Gold is a hedge against a falling dollar! Gold offers terrific profit potential and appreciation! What I heard was normal advertising rhetoric. However, since I have an affinity for the gold market (we both began trading on the futures exchanges at about the same time) and have always been interested in researching various investment vehicles, I decided to investigate the ads claims. Gold began to trade on the American futures exchanges in late 1974, so I used data on spot gold from the December 31, 1974, close through the August 31, 2006, close. The period of nearly 32 years of data spanned enough time periods for me to get a true research picture on the claims in the advertisement. SPOT GOLD VS. INFLATION First, I decided to investigate the claim that gold is a hedge against inflation. A hedge can be considered to be something that protects you against a financial loss. Simply stated, this means that gold will increase at or above the rate of inflation, thus protecting the buying power of

I've been trading the news for about 6 months now. FXDD have stopped filling me on all 3 accounts after making huge profits. I am using one good broker at the moment but not sure if they will fill me for much longer. I am in need of a broker who fill you at news times and doesn't up the spreads to silly amounts. Any ideas?

I whent to a workshop about trading currency in the forex market using the Premiere Trade AI software. They whanted $2,995 for the software and they brag about how eassy this is to use. They gave us a pressentation on how to use it and it look simple but I don't have experience on trading or using any trading software so what do I know. It will be nice to get some info. first from some experts on trading out there, so hopefuly someone can help!. Thanks for your time.

Dre's definitely closer to on target than gary.

You need to ask yourself what do you want, a system, or to learn how to trade.

Personally, I think there are some better products out there. However, most all of those systems do work if you follow the rules and apply discipline and money management.

I like Wizetrade's system (Forex Made Easy)'s a little better than premieretrade because they also show stocks in multiple timeframes. But both will help measure a market's buying/selling pressure to help determine reasonable entry/exit points.

What's nice is that all of the sytems give you up to 30 days to try them out as well. So, what you might do for now is do a little research to learn about the forex market. Then, open a virtual account to practice in.

Then, when the companies return to town (about every 4 months), you can buy the product and try it out. Trade it live for yourself and make your mind up then. No risk since you can return it and with a little education under your belt, you'll be able to better make the proper decision for you.

If you have any questions, let me know.

    Hope that helps!
